Understanding Others

People are each a little different but a lot the same.  The 5th and 6th grade set up stations for us to rotate through to discover a bit of what it might be like to not be able to use our hands, feet, legs or eyes.

The world is full of people who are different. We all get around in our own ways. As long as we get there is the important part.

It can be uncomfortable to be around people or situations that are “different.” We learned that we should focus on the person rather than on physical traits or conditions.

Sighted children learn by looking at the whole picture before exploring the parts. Many visually impaired people may have to rely on what they can touch, feel, or hear for information.

Make a new friend.  Say hello at the playground, synagogue, and school.
