Meet Mrs. Hoy

My name is Sandie Hoy and I am the First and Kindergarten teacher.  I was born and raised in KC, Mo. I got married in 1981 to my best friend Doug Hoy. We have been married for 37 years.
I graduated from Wright State University where I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education Kindergarten through 8th grade in the fall of 1984.  I have many hours toward my masters from UD.  I have worked with preschoolers through 4th graders these past 25 years in education and many years staying home raising by two sons. I still absolutely love it!!
Neil my oldest son graduated from Ohio University, and is a Pilot for American and getting married this September. Ross my younger son is married and works with his father at Fox Lite a manufacturing company in Eden. Ross and his wife, Cherry, are expecting a son in November and I will be a first time grandma. We live in Union and have a small love parrot named Smokey. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
My motto in life and in my classroom is "Work hard first and play hard as a reward."  I believe that education and learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging.  If young children develop a love for learning at an early age, then that love will continue to grow.  Through the use of projects, hands-on activities, technology, and cooperative learning I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child to achieve at their highest level and develop into life-long learners.  I know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. Through working together, we can make this school year an enjoyable and challenging experience.
Thank you for entrusting me with your precious ones,

Mrs. Sandie Hoy
