Primary's First Weeks!

The Primary's first days of school were a big success.
The students had big smiles for their first day photo.

We discovered that learning stations and centers in our classroom help us learn different things.
We enjoyed discovering fun treasures throughout the classroom.
We had a deep focus and retold our story,
There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly,
with the pocket chart, props, puppets, listening, and using our Ipad.

We used letter beads to spell our names, and we wrote our spelling words on writing paper to practice our "ball" words.

Math manipulative made learning patterns and counting fun.

We learned insects have three body parts: head, thorax and abdomen, six legs and two antennas.  We played a game that resulted in unique insect-like creatures.   We sorted insects, and even learned an insect song to help us remember the insect parts.  Here are the words,  sung to the tune of
"Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes."

"Head, thorax, abdomen, abdomen;  head, thorax, abdomen,  abdomen;  two antennas and six legs. Head, thorax, abdomen. (It is sung to the tune Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes).

At the Home Living Center we played dress up and took care of our special class bear that needs, and gets, lots of love.

We played with cars, balls, and building blocks to encourage creativity and use our imaginations.

Primary is having fun moving, playing, and learning. We went outside for recess and discovered the fun playground equipment. ( Sorry you missed the air guitar concert with tennis rackets. ) We also used balloons to play volleyball and soccer in physical education.
